The Beauty Line That Every It Girl Is Talking About

August 24, 2016 Shana McLoud
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleaser, Balm Dotcom, Boy Brow, and Haloscope

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleaser, Balm Dotcom, Boy Brow, and Haloscope

Glossier is a brand that's been on my radar for a while now. I've always loved that its a simple, curated beauty line that's geared toward the girl on the go. The line features several products from a gentle cleanser to cream highlighter. I could never say that I have a simple beauty routine, however, I envy girls that do. They seem so free and relaxed and still ridiculously radiant, gah! So, in an effort to be cool, simple and chic, I placed an order on Glossier.com.

The first product that I popped into my cart was the original Balm Dotcom. They offer several flavors, or formulas, but I wanted to start with the classic. What did I think? LOVE IT! It's a hydrating balm that's lightweight on the lips, and is so not gloopy. I normally put it on in the morning when I'm doing my makeup for the day, however, I have worn it overnight and its been amazing for keeping my lippies hydrated then, too. Since it is a universal salve, I've massaged it into my cuticles, my elbows and even where I burned myself with a curling iron to help hydrate and nourish that skin as well. I love how versatile this balm truly is.

Boy Brow was the next goodie that I had to pick up. I picked up the shade brown, and I've found it to be a nice cool, medium tone. It has a petite brush that makes it a breeze to swipe through your brows. The tinted gel formula helps define your brows while giving a natural amount of hold, which I've really enjoyed.

Since everyone and their mother is highlight crazy, I had to pick up Haloscope. Haloscope is Glossier's cream highlighting stick, and I opted for the paler Quartz shade. I had never used a cream highlight before and it took me a minute to get used to it, honestly. However, once I played around with the product, I loved how beautifully it would meld into the skin with your fingertips or a beauty blender. I've been using it in a C-shape around my cheek bone and eye area, and I love the natural gleam it gives. It doesn't sit heavily on top of my oily skin, which was a concern, and it doesn't overly hydrate and slide down my face by lunch time. I have enjoyed how it has enhanced my own skin, and how radiant clients have looked when I've used it on them. This is a stunning, easy to use cream highlight!

The product that completed my Glossier order was their ever popular face wash, Milky Jelly Cleanser. I had heard the YouTuber, Chelsea Wears, rave and rave about this cleanser, so when I ran out of my current face wash, I picked this puppy up. This is a very mild, and gentle cleanser that is great at removing makeup, even waterproof formulas. I do think my oily skin needs a little bit more of a cleansing factor in the summer time here in North Carolina. But, I have been using it to lightly cleanse my face in the morning which I've enjoyed, and I really like that it's fragrance free, too. I feel like this mild cleanser would be great for sensitive skin types and those who wear a more natural level of makeup on a daily basis.

After a couple of months of playing around with these goodies, I have to say that I'm super impressed. The line is straight forward, chic and cruelty-free. Glossier has a reasonable price point and an awesome, Boss Babe in charge. What's not to love?
